The Development of Geospatially-enabled Grid Technology for Earth Science Applications
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper discusses a research project that integrates OGC and Grid technologies for making NASA EOSDIS data easily accessible to Earth science modeling and applications communities. OGC web service technology is developed for providing interoperable access and services of geospatial data. The built-in OGC geospatial services include subsetting, resampling, georectification, reprojection, reformatting, and visualization. Grid technology is developed for sharing data, storage, and computational powers of highend computing within a virtual organization. The integration of the two technologies makes Grid technology geospatially enabled and OGC standard compliant and makes OGC technology Grid enabled. The integration allows researchers to focus on science and not issues with data receipt, format, and manipulation.

Recently, Brushless Cascaded Doubly Fed Induction Generator (BCDFIG) has been considered as an attractive choice for grid-connected applications due to its high controllability and reliability. In this paper, a Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPC) method with active and reactive power control capability in grid-connected mode is proposed for controlling the BCDFIG in a way that...
متن کاملThe development of a geospatial data Grid by integrating OGC Web services with Globus-based Grid technology
Geospatial science is the science and art of acquiring, archiving, manipulating, analyzing, communicating, and utilizing spatially explicit data for understanding physical, biological, and social systems on the Earth’s surface or near the surface. In order to share distributed geospatial resources and facilitate the interoperability, the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), an industry-government-...
متن کاملUsing ICENI to run parameter sweep applications across multiple Grid resources
The Imperial College e-Science Networked Infrastructure (ICENI) provides an end-to-end Grid middleware to facilitate Grid administrators, developers and end-users. It consists of both a service oriented Grid framework and an application toolkit, using a component programming model to represent Grid applications. In this paper we give an overview of ICENI from an application user’s point of view...
